I am reading as someone who manages someone and looks at it from some self-introspection. As a manager, I tend to load a lot more on the more productive members of my team. For precisely what you talk about, they are rewarded with more work if they get results. As someone who manages people, I think it is essential to be aware when you may exceed a person’s resources and overload. While you know this individual can contribute significantly, I, as a leader, may be hurting their overall job performance by overloading and thus making them less effective in the organization.
