I found taking an approach of giving more responsibility by requesting delivery against outcomes rather than closely managing staff pays great dividends. I’ve also been in situations in the past where I’ve just got too micro and it can start to drive you crazy. Work is only work and you won’t be remembered or respected for fussing over tea breaks. Might be time for a rethink of your approach, teach you staff to be leaders and you will become a better leader. Great advice, I have been on the same journey and thoroughly understand it is not easy.
But I totally agree with the advise above my mentor has told me “to choose my
battles “.
As managers we pull ourselves out of the day to day trials and tribulations and focus on the big picture .
Celebrate your successes and your team will follow.
The world of management is great as we as managers continue to learn, each challenge gives us a new opportunity to shine.
