I love the subject you have chosen and your article is very original. Yes, a good sense of humour is important but I am very careful about it. I have lived in different cultures and found out that humour is a regional thing. In some countries people do not use irony or wordplays and when I made the mistake to do this they took my words literally. You can imagine my number of apologies until I realized that it is not just one person but the culture.
